Lady Bug and Lightning Bug Night a Success!
Although we had a brief rain at around 7pm, everyone stayed dry under the pavillion in the Children's Garden and were very glad that they did! Every child got a bug box as they entered the garden and they all enjoyed scouring the garden looking for insects and pill bugs! The lady bugs, (or lady bird beetles, as is thier new common name,) were all released but most made thier ways into bug boxes for inspection and take home. At 9:30 the first lightning bugs showed off their bioluminescence and it wasn't long before the kids were chasing them across the grass. This was a beautiful evening in the Children's Garden and reminded all of us adults of our own childhood days spent outside chasing bugs.

Audience participation, a puppet, singing and a whole lot of laughing were enjoyed in the Children's Garden Pavillion on Saturday, June 19th. For those of us in the audience, it was a fun time. In fact some of us found ourselves smiling and singing silly songs for the rest of the day! Keep watching our website, there will be more videos coming! In the meantime, follow this link to Kevin's cool website and find out how you can join the fun of the Tomato Collection!
